Shell Pattern Baby Blanket

Another baby blanket pattern.  I tried this shell pattern on a recent blanket but it just doesn't have the right amount of squish for a baby in my opinion.  It looks pretty enough but I don't think I'll be using this pattern again.  I'll stick with my original soft and sumptuous pattern for now.

Crochet Flip Flop Baby Sandals

A friend recently asked me if I could crochet a pair of flipflop sandals for a 6 month old baby so I spent an afternoon trying to find a pattern I could get started with straight away.
Unsuccessful on the finding front I had a go at creating my own pattern which, in turn, created these little beauties...

...I love them!!!

Happy New Year!

Wow, 2016!
I was somewhat sporadic with my blogging last year - I missed November and December completely :/
So here is a little catch up on some of my handmade Christmas gifts for people...

For my gorgeous Fairy Goddaughter's twins:

Early Twins :D

My Fairy God-daughter's twins arrived early!
Once I knew what their names were I got to work on some lovely bunting for them...

and I made a nice card too.

Baby Blankets

My Fairy God-daughter is expecting twins! What's even better, they are due on my birthday!
I've been busy crocheting a couple of blankets to give her at the baby shower.

Crochet Baby Blanket

I love to crochet a granny square or two.  I have a stack of squares waiting to be joined into something wonderful but I can't decide which method of joining I'm going to use yet.

But I did make a stack of lovely squares using wriggly yarn in pastel green, yellow, peach and white.

I joined these with the raised double crochet technique which creates a thick ridge along the top.  I like this ridge, it gives definition to each square.

The edge is a gentle picot all the way around in white.  It's so soft and snuggly, I wish I had enough to make myself a very very large one!

For Baby

A couple more pram hangers I have made...

I love the lace on this pink hanger. It is a scrap left over from our family christening gown.
The paper is a smudged pink with pale brown dots and the large heart is a sizzix cut out, aged around the edges and embellished with a pearl heart and 'Ssshhh...'
I also made a yellow and mint green hanger using a checked pattern and embellishing with a yellow and green pearl heart and flower.
The tiny bear is made from fimo clay.

A baby gift

I made a couple of little hangers for baby.
They're only 10cm tall, just perfect as a gift tag or decorative hanger.
