Button Notebook

My sister made me a lovely book for Easter and we have since made some together on one of our craft days.

Firstly, I padded and covered a plain hardback notebook, sewing silk cross-stitching across the top and bottom.

then sewed lots of lovely buttons, beads and embellishments on the front cover.

and sewed some french knots and golden stitching to finish it off.

Happy 12th Birthday

My son's 12th Birthday card. I used a green spotted paper on the 1 and a contrasting brown spotted paper on the 2.
Once again I embellished with buttons, bows and heart cut-outs. I also added a few tiny glass mosaic tiles.

Baby Birdhouse Bunting

I've been using my scraps up again, this time on some tiny birdhouse bunting.
I drew a simple template for the base shape and an extra eaves template. It's a great way to use up small scraps of my favourite papers. They are tied to the hanging cord with embroidery silks.

Dolly Peg Bunches

I saw some lovely tied bunches of wooden clothes pegs in a shop recently but they were very expensive so I decided to use the idea to create my own little bunches....
I fastened 6 wooden pegs together with a rubber band then tied a Gisela Graham striped ribbon around the band to hide it, finishing with a nice big bow...
then added a layered label and heart sizzix cutout, edged in colours similar to the ribbon...

and gave them to my mum and sister as gifts.

Baby Bunting

I made some tiny bunting for a friend using 4 different patterns of pink floral paper...

...and ink-smudged the edges of each triangle with pink ink...
...then strung them on pale pink leather cord...
...and tied a loop at each end and finished with a star bead...

and this is how they look hung up...

Sweets for my Sweet...

I love this jar!

I painted the lid with white paint then stuck all kinds of lovely stuff on it.

There's dried rose petals and buds, buttons, paper flowers, pearl embellishments and more buttons...

...and the jar is filled with love heart sweets.

Mini Notebooks

After a long break, back to crafting!

Here are 3 mini notebooks I made, borrowing the idea from my son, who has made several for himself.

I have used my usual embellishments, ribbons and some scraps of vintage lace.
I even ragged each page edge on the larger of the oblong books but resorted to shaped scissors for the other two.

I doubt they'll ever get written in but I may use them as mini photo albums when I finally get around to transferring my old photos to the computer!
