Shell Pattern Baby Blanket

Another baby blanket pattern.  I tried this shell pattern on a recent blanket but it just doesn't have the right amount of squish for a baby in my opinion.  It looks pretty enough but I don't think I'll be using this pattern again.  I'll stick with my original soft and sumptuous pattern for now.

Crochet Flip Flop Baby Sandals

A friend recently asked me if I could crochet a pair of flipflop sandals for a 6 month old baby so I spent an afternoon trying to find a pattern I could get started with straight away.
Unsuccessful on the finding front I had a go at creating my own pattern which, in turn, created these little beauties...

...I love them!!!

Baby Blankets

My Fairy God-daughter is expecting twins! What's even better, they are due on my birthday!
I've been busy crocheting a couple of blankets to give her at the baby shower.

Crochet Boot Cuffs

I love making these, but I can only keep so many pairs for myself :(

Oops!

I missed my 'Card a Week' for last week so I've done two similar blank cards for this week.
The crochet granny square is done in embroidery silks and is sewn onto a pale dusky pink card mounted on textured cream.  All the edges are ink-smudged in dusky pink.

The inside has a pale dusky pink paper insert with a decorative edge cut to match the raised card on the front.

Crochet Baby Blanket

I love to crochet a granny square or two.  I have a stack of squares waiting to be joined into something wonderful but I can't decide which method of joining I'm going to use yet.

But I did make a stack of lovely squares using wriggly yarn in pastel green, yellow, peach and white.

I joined these with the raised double crochet technique which creates a thick ridge along the top.  I like this ridge, it gives definition to each square.

The edge is a gentle picot all the way around in white.  It's so soft and snuggly, I wish I had enough to make myself a very very large one!

Crochet Hook Case

I finally got round to making myself a little crochet hook case.  It is crocheted in stripes with a scalloped edge and a pink felt lining.

My sister liked it so much she asked me to make her one, too!

Lazy Sundays...

I had a lovely lazy Sunday, taking it easy and finishing off a few items that I've left for a little too long.

Like these crochet flowers for brooches...

...and a pair of giddy knitted cuffs in a peachy cream colourway...
...with a diagonal hole pattern and a very frilly edge.

Busy Needles

I had this pattern for hand warmers and wanted to try it out so found a half ball of cotton-style wool and gave them a go...

...and I was so pleased with them that I tried a pair in pale mint green in a moss stitch...

...but these are asking for flowers to be added...
...and then a yummy woolly brown pair with fluffy ribbing and crocheted flowers...
