For Dad

And some more bunting for Dad.

I used different sizes of flags in this manly bunting.
The edges are ink-smudged with antique gold and the lettering is in a deep plum shimmer card.

The ends are finished with a knot of paper ribbon, a hanging loop and three small wooden beads in plum and green.

Once again, a great alternative to a Father's Day card.

Bunting for Daddy

A busy Sunday afternoon, making bunting in polka dots and stripes to take part in the City Crafter Challenge Blog.

I decided to make this bunting using different papers in stripes and dots in baby blues with an embossed blue card for the lettering and a small pale blue button on the end flags.

The bunting is threaded on sturdy craft paper string and finished with a bead and a loop for hanging.
This bunting also makes a great alternative to a Father's Day card.

Thank you

I've been playing with the set up of my blog lately, which turned into one of those 'little' jobs that lasts for hours and still isn't the finished product I was after initially.

For today I had a big 'Thank you' that was somewhat overdue so I've done this card...
...with ragged dusky pink ink-smudged edges...
...a dusky pink stamped 'Thank you'...
...embellished with pearly flowers and a layered heart...
...and some pink and cream ribbon.

More hearts...

I made myself sit and sew yesterday.  I needed to get something done and decided to go with small simple fabric hearts...

 ...with 'pinked' edges...

 ...and a ribbon hanger...

...and one with an extra bit of love on it...
...and all finished off with a little brown tag.

A couple of hearts

I was given a small bag of bits lately and asked to do something with them.
I sewed this little blue-print silk heart, decorating it with a scrap of vintage lace left over from the family christening robe and a lace flower cut out.  I embellished it with a couple of opalescent beads and from the bit bag used a small 'CONGRATULATIONS' printed offcut of ribbon and a button...

...and following on from the raggedy bag I made in pinks I used the cuts to make this raggedy heart...

Garden sheds and beach huts

Just a quick peek at some garden sheds and beach huts I've been sewing.
Slightly quilted and sewn with a ribbon hanger...

...and some with door hinges too...

In the post today...

I received my stamps from the Skull and Crossbuns competition.

I was so excited to win this and have been planning all kinds of things stampy,
but my delight at brand new sparkly clean stamps meant I couldn't wait
and just had to have a quick play with them...

...a rainbow of yarns...

...and pink 'Keep Calm and Craft On' labels (I'll punch a hole
in them and put lovely ribbon on to finish them off)...

...and some gold ones too...

...thanks again to Skull and Crossbuns xx

Rag Bag

Me and my sister have had a couple of days playing with multiple materials and my sewing machine.
I've wanted to try this for some time now and my intention was to make a bag in dark greens and sludge browns but somehow I ended up with pinks!

...I love the raggedness of the materials and the way the different layers emerge as I trim away...

and I left the ends trailing from the bottom of the bag.
