Little Book of Love

This beautiful little book is made with pockets to tuck pretty little things into.

The front is decorated with a snippet of vintage lace and a tiny key tied with an organza ribbon.
The book ties together with thin crafters thread through two little heart-shaped lock embellishments.

Inside are 6 little card hearts with ink-smudged edges, just lovely to write a little love note or special date on.

The back is finished with a heart lock and a small heart-shaped button.

Little Hearts

I accidently slipped into a little bit of crafting this afternoon, with no particular plan to follow.  I petted some of my favourite fabrics, pinched and snipped my fingers on my wire cutters and pliers before coming up with this little idea...
which moved nicely along to this one...
and this...

and this...

then finished off with a Christmassy tatty raggedy heart...

with jingle bells

A Card A Week

A lovely little square card in blue...

with a card heart and flower...

and a torn edge...

finished with a couple of pearly flower embellishments and a scalloped cream paper inside.
I was so pleased with it that I made another one the same...

Springtime Tatty Raggedy-ness

I love Spring, and I really loved the last two days of term, knowing I'd be getting 2 whole weeks of lie-ins.  I also enjoyed the morning school runs, as I got to pass all the little schoolchildren heading in with their homemade Easter Bonnets on.  Crepe paper and fluffy chicks atop many a wee head!

.♥.

I had orders for tatty hearts and horseshoes - some of which were in Spring-time colours so I went for these...

 ...and some greens...

...and finally a couple of horseshoes...

Twig gathering ...

Last week we took a day to walk in the woods and gathered some fallen twigs and branches.  With some coaxing and wire-binding (and a fair few twangs in the face!)  I managed to get a heart shape...

...which I finished with a lilac gingham bow.
Then I made another one for on my front door...

...with a neater top but a much nicer, tatty, longer bottom.

Pussy Willow Hearts

I love pussy willows.  I wanted to make these for Christmas but didn't manage to get any pussy willow branches until last weekend...

...so they have been wire twisted and finished with gingham bows...

...or spotty bows.

Fun with Felt...

Holly has a thing for little felted owls so I found this great pattern here and made this one for her...
...and I made a few little hanging heart decorations too...
...embellished with buttons and tiny felt hearts...
...all sewn up in little kisses and blanket stitches.

It's been that time of year again...

..when I've had my sewing machine whizzing away at making dance costumes for my friend Alison's youngster.  So to celebrate finishing them I allowed myself a little spare time to do a few more bottle bags in the rustic burlap-style fabric.  Each of these have the string tie detail...

...and if you look very carefully at the first photo you can see a little bit of the top of the stripped dresser I've been working on this Summer.
