Little Flags

I made these stiff flags from sturdy card and gingham print craft papers.  The flag pole is a food-safe wooden stick which makes them great for sticking in cakes.
Or how about writing a name on the flag and sticking it out of the top of a Christmas stocking?

Merry Christmas

More sewn fabric gift tags.
These are made with fabrics I've used previously and the ribbon is printed with 'x Merry Christmas x'
I love the spotty green material with the small floral print, and the pink gingham fabric and ribbon are wonderful.

Little Mitten Decorations

I've made some little mitten decorations from sturdy card and printed craft papers.
The edges are ink-smudged in silver on the maroon mittens
and dull gold on the pink and green mittens.
I punched a star-shaped hole to thread thick craft string through for a hanger and tied a pink ribbon knot around it.

Tatty Fabric Heart

This tatty rag heart measures approx 12cm x 12cm.

Made with four different materials in a pink and green colourway - two floral, one gingham, one spotty - it is finished with a pink gingham bow and hanger and 'Handmade by Tamara Jayne' heart tag.

Christmas Bunting

A couple more buntings of JOY!
These are smaller than the other Christmas bunting I've shown but that seems to make them all the more lovely.
I have used my vintage-look red gingham paper on the outer flags and a couple of other prints on the JOY flags.  The letters are ink-smudged or outlined with golds.
Then the flags are threaded on to brown crafting string and finished with a bead and loop at each end for hanging, and a simple knot of red gingham ribbon.

Christmas Bunting

More of my bunting!
This one has 'Christmas' in pale green shimmery letters across it and the end flags in red gingham print have a heart-shaped dark green button on them.
The string is finished in a loop at each end and a tiny gold jingle bell.

Hanging Giftcard Pocket

I made some lovely little hanging pockets.  I don't know what the correct term for them is but they have room for a credit-card size gift card, or maybe little love notes to slide in.
These three are made using a paisley print in pale turquoise and reds with a gingham plaque, cream with pink roses and a green plaque, and a vintage blue floral print with a pale turquoise plaque.  Each plaque has 'Hugs and Kisses' written on.

And these two are in a vintage rose print pattern.  The plaque is in a brown spotted print and the wording says 'With Love ♥'

Welcome Bunting

More bunting!
This is a welcome sign made using fresh prints.  I love the green spotted paper and selected the other patterns to compliment it.

The letters are cut from purple shimmer card.
It is strung on pink craft twine and finished with loops and pink beads.

Christmas Bunting

I love this bunting!  I have been making lots of bunting items lately and I wanted to share my Christmas 'Joy' and 'Peace' with you.

Made using sturdy card and Christmas printed craft papers.
The edges of the flags and the letters are ink-smudged in gold.

Tags and Bags

I've been sewing more '♥ With Love' gift tags.  Another floral, a gingham and a spotty one.
and I've been wanting to make more of these little bags for ages so I finally got to it and made some.
The floral fabric is beautiful, with soft muted colours.

And the stripes I love too!
And they are all fully lined!

Fabric gift tags

I've been busy with my sewing machine again.
I recently bought some '♥ with love' ribbon and used it on my fabric tags.

I love the colours and the patterns.
They are ideal to tie onto a bottle of wine or on a present.

Tatty Fabric Heart

I made another of the fabric tatty hearts, this time using pinks and pale purples.
This one is smaller than the previous one I have shown and is not as rounded in shape but it's still charming...
...and it's finished with a tag with buttons on, of course!

Sewn Card

The Front...

The Back...

I made this card using a favourite brown floral material and lots of lace and fabric scraps.
I tried to plan the layout but couldn't get the look I wanted so I went with random placement and sewing.
Basically, I just sewed the thick lace round a couple of times then added bits of ribbon, fabric and lace as I fancied.  I finished off with the cake square in the middle and some buttons too.
I am really happy with the way it turned out.

Tatty Fabric Heart

My sister made me a beautiful tatty fabric heart for Christmas last year and we have since made several on our crafting days.

This one I made using up some bits of fabric I'd had for years and never found the right thing to do with. It was originally very chocolate brown and pale green but I quickly ran out of the pale colours so started to add the darker greeny-blue colour.
I love the colours, although they don't stand out very well on the full picture but the close up shows them clearer.

It now hangs on an old cupboard door in my kitchen.
The tag has survived several playful attacks by my daughters kittens and is now looking very tatty indeed!

Personal Scrapbook

A while ago a friend asked me to make a small personal scrapbook for her sister. This is the front cover, with a sister quote and a framed B for Barbara.
The first internal page is all about her birth sign, Cancer. The hanging tags give details of famous people born under the sign of Cancer and the little trunk is filled with various pictures of the star sign. There is also details of birthstones, starstones, ruling planets etc.

The next page is all about the year she was born. There is a mini newspaper with major news events from that year, details of the No 1 single and album for the day she was born. The hanging tags mark world events in history which occurred on her birthday date. One of the little envelopes has a birthday card in and the other has a list of Oscar winners from the year she was born.
The next page shows name meanings for her and her partner, followed by a page about their children.

Then I did a family tree and a page with sister quotes.

I know the pictures are not very clear but they were taken a long time ago with my old camera.
There are all my favourite embellishments throughout this project and I really enjoyed doing it.
I will share more of these scrapbooks in the future.

Happy Anniversary...

With several anniversaries coming up in the next couple of months I set to and made a start on some cards.
Once again I dipped into my new craft pack and used some of the lovely paper bits in it, and finished with some gingham ribbon and a vellum 'Happy Anniversary'.

I have a new Carol Wilson Embossed Art kit and it has some beautiful pieces in it.
I made this heart card using several of the items included in the kit and a couple of my own embellishments.

Button Notebook

My sister made me a lovely book for Easter and we have since made some together on one of our craft days.

Firstly, I padded and covered a plain hardback notebook, sewing silk cross-stitching across the top and bottom.

then sewed lots of lovely buttons, beads and embellishments on the front cover.

and sewed some french knots and golden stitching to finish it off.

Happy 12th Birthday

My son's 12th Birthday card. I used a green spotted paper on the 1 and a contrasting brown spotted paper on the 2.
Once again I embellished with buttons, bows and heart cut-outs. I also added a few tiny glass mosaic tiles.
