21st Birthday Card

Another family member reaches a milestone 21st birthday.
This card is basic cream linen card with a 2 cut out and ragged in a vintage inspired postage stamp paper in browns and plums.  The 1 is in a green coloured vintage map print from the same paper set as the postage stamp print.
I tried to keep it simple with the embellishments and opted for green and red wooden buttons with coordinating jewel and star.  I sneaked a deep green organza bow on it and a small brass key to symbolize the 'Key of the Door' landmark birthday.

Getting there...

My 'Card a Week' personal challenge has had a few hiccups (as have I ☺) but as I meander my way into week 37 of 2013 I have a little 'catchy-uppy' to play as I counted back only 26 cards blogged to date.  So here are a few to bring me a little closer...

bringing my total to 29 - WooHoo!

Afternoon tea at my house ♥

With my husband and my son both celebrating their birthday last Friday I'm afraid I didn't get any spare time to do any crafting.  I'll top up my 'Card a Week' project this week (hopefully).
We did have a lovely afternoon tea on Sunday...
..cupcakes and  coffee cake..

..lemon drizzle loaf cake..

..rustic scones, berries and cherries jam and clotted cream..
..and a fabulous chocolate fudge cake..

..and my lovely vintage china teacups, saucers and plates.

A Card A Week

I struggle with masculine cards sometimes, it's hard not to put on all the lovely embellishments I take a shine to and hearts and ribbons are not for the manly male!
So here is a card I made for my nephew who turned 19 last week (eek!)

How hard can it be...?

...to make a card a week for a year?  I should be organised enough to get this done, I mean, it's not like people change the day they have their birthday, is it?  I'm going to try to do this, and I'll even attempt to back-track over the weeks I've missed so far this year, too.
So here goes...

First up, a 15th birthday card for Jamie

followed by a 50th card for my sister-in-law from the beginning of February

fingers crossed for more to come!

Handmade 18th Birthday Card

Here's another 18th birthday card, this time in green shimmery card with vintage green patterned paper overlays with tattered and torn edges.
I've embellished it with hearts, flowers, buttons and bows and even tied a tiny silver 'Coming of Age' key to the number 1.

There's a panel of vintage linen green tattered paper inside to write a special message on.
This is now in my wowthankyou shop

3 weeks? Sorry...

Hard to believe that the last three weeks have gone by and I haven't blogged once.  Life hasn't been busy, but it has been fun!  Both the men in my life had a birthday (that's my husband and my son, sharing the same birthday).  Hubby had a week off work and we spent most of time doing whatever we wanted to do.  The one day we chose to stay at home and do nothing also happened to be the worst day for weather so that worked out well for us.  And we've had a wonderful Diamond Jubilee extra long weekend to make us all proud to be British.  Top that all off with the half term break and weather to warrant the building of an ark and that's where most of my time has been.
I have still been tickling my craft supplies and producing little items but haven't had the light (or the sense in my head) to take any reasonable photo's.  But just to prove I've been up to something, here's a trio of shots of an 18th card I made for my daughter's friend...

...and this last  photo shows the pink heart covered wallpaper envelope too!

Personal Scrapbook

I had a special request to make a personal scrapbook for an 18th birthday present recently.
On the front cover I used soft lavenders, lilacs and pinks, with skeleton leaves in dark cerise and a dried rose.  The name letters are cut from lilac glitter card and stuck on purple shimmer card...
...the second page was all connected to the actual birth date.  There are details on the star sign Pisces, information on birthstones, star stones, birth flowers etc.  The hanging tags in the middle are all famous people who share the same birthday (although born in different years) and there's a gold envelope with Oscar winners for the year she was born.  In the bottom left envelope pockets there's a small newspaper with top stories from the year she was born and also stories from her birthday in history...

...followed by a page devoted to angels, with angel quotes and sayings, scrolls of angel quotes and poems,

and lovely pictures and tags of angels...
...then a couple of pages all about Hannah.  With childhood memories and things she loved...
...and a mini photo album tied in between the two larger pages...

...and a page to inspire...
...followed by a page devoted to her beloved family dog...
...then a wire~work family tree, with little envelopes of family quotes...
...before finishing with a page of butterflies...
