A Warm Welcome.

When I was making up the 'Marry Me' bunting the other day I had little flags all over my workspace.  I was drawn to the idea of doing a 'Vintage' bunting but I already had the letters for 'Welcome' cut out and the colour worked so well with the flag patterns I decided to use what I already had.

I love these shades, and the brown ink-smudged edges give the lettering a vintage style, too.

Vintage Cutlery

More hooks made from vintage cutlery pieces.
After several failed attempts at manipulating fork prongs into lovely curls I've put my forks aside and just got on with more spoons.  I was successful with a very tiny little fork which I love so I'm planning on keeping this for myself.

I love the way some of the original surface has been worn away over the years and has created differing colours on the cutlery.  I also like the blemishes on the metalwork, giving a shabby chicness to some pieces.

I love these colours...

I'm catching up on a bit of stock piling and have been playing with lovely fabric combinations in these tatty raggedy hearts...

...nice pinks in plain, gingham and floral...

...blues and creams with a little bit of my 'confetti' fabric sneaking in...

...and this yummy floral fabric in Autumny coffee browns, sage greens and rusty reds...

...and a photo of all three taken in the evening sun.

It's been a very busy week so far...

...with some very special requests...

...for some customised bunting.

For a Wedding...

I'm off to a wedding today so I've made this tatty raggedy horseshoe to give to the bride after the ceremony.
It's made using pink dupion silk, pale cream lace, gold organza and plain ivory cotton...
...and is finished with a white satin hanger and bows.

Busy with the bunting!

I set to with a little production line yesterday to get a good stock of bunting flags made.
I opened a new 'Wild Asparagus' pack and used some embossed and some flat papers to make two different sizes of flags.
I've since drilled the corners for threading.
All I need to do now is decide what wording to use and to make up the full bunting.

Welcome Bunting

A lovely string of bunting made with pink and blue rose-printed papers for my Folksy shop.
I used some deep plum shimmery card for the lettering and
ink-smudged the edges of each flag with dusky pink.
The end flags are embellished with a pink button and
the craft string has blue gingham ribbon knots tied to it.
Each loop is finished with beads.
